The following guidelines and reminders are specific to this Division. Please also read the Information for Entrants & Rules and General Conditions.
1. Performances are for soloists unless an event indicates otherwise.2. A person may only perform ONCE in the SAME event.3. A different item is required for each event unless repeat performances are specifically allowed. If it is specifically indicated that an item may be repeated, it may be repeated ONLY ONCE (except when progressing to finals).4. Time limits normally provide for the presentation of ONE ITEM unless event requirements stipulate otherwise. They are strictly monitored and entrants exceeding the time limit will be eligible for 'comments only' - not for any placing.5. Registration and performance rules are strictly enforced (see Nos 15 & 16 in the Rules & General Conditions of Entry).6. Unless an event is ‘Any Age’, entrants must conform to event age limits. Random age checks will be made and entrants must carry a photocopy of their birth certificate or school ID with their date of birth.7. Entrants perform at their own risk. Entrants agree they are of good health and fitness and physically able to participate in an event. No liability will be accepted for any injury sustained whilst carrying out that performance.8. In case of insufficient entries in any event they may be combined with similar events.9. A separate entry form stating the name of BOTH entrants must be completed for duos and a GROUP NAME must be given for THREE or more in an event.ACCOMPANIMENT:10. The Backing CD MUST NOT HAVE ANY RECORDED VOCALS in any part (lead, backing or harmony). If there are any instrumental sounds, which could be mistaken for 'the human voice’, please inform the Session Manager when submitting your CD. Any protest on the day of the competition about ‘vocals on CD’ has to be lodged immediately with the Session Manager so that the CD is checked before adjudication (see No 36 in the Rules & General Conditions of Entry).12. RECORDING OF CD:* If the CD is prepared on a home computer, ensure it is finalised properly, and plays through a normal audio system. Please don’t use RW-CDs (Re-Writeable). These are meant for computers and are sometimes not recognised in sensitive replay equipment. Sydney Eisteddfod cannot be responsible for backing CDs, which do not play through the venue’s professional sound system.* A separate CD for each event is required, submitted in a 'Double CD case’ - see below. Only the ONE TRACK RELEVANT to the event should be on the CD. You are also requested to submit a BACK-UP CD (in a DOUBLE CD case - one case which takes two CDs), when you register. Sydney Eisteddfod takes no responsibility for CD error. If the CD should fail during your performance you will be permitted to leave the stage while the backup is programmed and start again without penalty. Please wait for Session Manager's instructions.*Your Event number and Entrant number must be clearly written on the CD using an appropriate pen. These details must be clearly visible through its protective case. Do NOT use labels as this may cause CD failure.13. The CD must be handed to the Session Manager when registering at least 15 minutes before the start of the session or event EST time.14. PROPRIETY:The use of explicit language is prohibited. Singers should avoid items of an overtly sexual or undignified nature.15. The use of microphones is compulsory in this division.16.
